Last week’s blog post was scheduled ahead of time, which is why there was no mentioning of the unbelievable hate that went down in Charlottesville, Virginia that day.
I’m honestly lost for words. I’ve wracked my mind over and over again, figuring out just what to say about it without repeating what other people have already said. I’ve addressed time and time again the tense political climate we are in, but this event has for sure taken the turn for the worse. That’s why I’ve decided to bluntly tell it like it is at this point in time:
Evil and racism exists. Many of us, including myself, already knew this well in advance, but for those who don’t, it’s time to pull your heads out of the sand and wake up to reality. This is not “Princess Mononoke” where the different sides of the fight are different shades of gray. In this situation, there is only one side that is to blame, and that is the side of hatred. The fact that our so-called “leader” would even suggest for there to be blame in all directions, via a response that came two days too late, continues to proves himself to be the disgrace to our country that he is. This never would have happened under our previous leadership, and because of last week’s events, a mother is without a daughter now.
To all those who’ve supported and voted for Trump (and for those who’ve stood idly by): Are you convinced yet? Have you had enough? Because for the rest of us, we’ve had more than enough as of November 8, 2016.
Allow for me to echo the very thing that was chanted over and over again in the protest scene in An Absolute Mind: “Enough is enough!” While it’s too late for some, I hope it’s not for others.
