August Anticipations

While a post like this would be more so expected on any other day, it’s otherwise atypical for me to make announcements like this on a Saturday. But given the magnitude of what I’m about to reveal, I feel that these two announcements deserve the spotlight of my regular Saturday blog post.

So August is actually going to be quite a month for me as both an author and a playwright. To be able to be present in different events where I get to embrace these identities of mine in the same month really uplifts me, even amidst the struggles I’ve been experiencing as a writer recently. At this time, I’m going to go ahead and break down just what you can anticipate from me this month:

I have a play featured in the upcoming “Stories High XVIII”!

Yes, you read that right. For the second year in a row, I have a new short piece included in this long-running annual showcase at Bindlestiff Studio. The culmination of the hard work of all the participants of this year’s writing, acting, and directing workshops will come into fruition in less than two weeks when the first performance occurs.

My play is called “Infinite Range,” and while I won’t say what it is about, what I will say is that similar to “Common Ground,” it will touch on quite a relevant subject matter. The primary difference is that it won’t be dark and depressing this time around, I guarantee it.

“Stories High XVIII” will be running from August 16th-25th, with a total of seven performances (one of which will be a matinee). If you live in or will be in San Francisco at that time and are interested in attending, you can buy your tickets here.

As for the other announcement…

I will be a participating author at a book fair!

So this is, for sure, a first for me. I will be one of about 20 authors featured at the Inaugural Local Authors Book Fair at the Mountain View Public Library. I will have a table to myself where I will be making physical copies of An Absolute Mind available for purchase. I’m also working towards making the option available to purchase the ebook version of both An Absolute Mind and/or A Moment’s Worth onsite.

It’s been little over a year since my last book event, and with a new book not coming out for a while, this makes for quite the opportunity to continue appearances and getting more people exposed to my work. I hope that my participation in this event will open doors to possibly more events in the future.

The Mountain View Public Library’s Local Authors Book Fair will be happening on Saturday August 25th, beginning at 2PM. If you’re in the area, I hope you can come out to this event.

So that’s what I’ve got going on this month, and if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, then you obviously have a greater chance at actually attending both of these events. I’m very excited for them both, as I keep on rolling.

An Absolute Mind is now available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & NobleCreateSpace, iBooks, Kobo, Smashwords, etc. If you read it, please leave a review, for they’re greatly appreciated, they help me grow as a writer, and they help with getting other people to find out about it. Also, be sure to check out its Goodreads page, and feel free to leave any questions you have about the book.

Also, if you are able to, I hope you can go support me in all that I do by leaving a tip over on Ko-fi. I do a lot of writing that I get paid very little for or not at all, and so this is a way of showing your support other than just reading my content. Donations of varying quantities and frequencies are greatly appreciated.
