This is one of those entries where I meant to write about something else, but due to recent events, I felt the need to rearrange my plans. In the past, I’ve talked a lot about not only finding reassurance through storytelling in light of current events, but also on just how valuable storytelling can be too, to rise above such issues. With the release of An Absolute Mind on the horizon and after everything that has happened this week on both the political and media fronts, this seems like a wise opportunity to talk about this again. Getting Ready, Excited, and Nervous
So… I announced my second novel a few days ago. I’ve been keeping it to myself for so long, that it’s good to have its title and synopsis out in the air. An Absolute Mind is on its way soon, as the realization struck me not only on the day of the announcement, but also two days ago when I noticed that I’m two months away from its release. Many emotions are coming to me as I continue to get ready, but excitement and nervousness are the primaries.
This isn’t so much another update on the novel, as it is a personal extension of last week’s post about second novels. While I did incorporate my own experience briefly into it, today I want to elaborate more on that. I want to show just how those points I addressed apply in my case. Special Tuesday Post: Second Novel Title and Release Date REVEAL
It’s been in the works for over two years and is now almost ready to be released to the world. While I’ve said a few things here and there regarding what to expect from my second novel, I haven’t given a whole lot about it away. In many ways, it’s very different from A Moment’s Worth, but I hope that people who have read my first novel will find similar kind of vibes to different insights and thought experiments in this one too. So without further ado, I want to go ahead and finally announce the title and release date for it. The second novel is called… Continue reading “Special Tuesday Post: Second Novel Title and Release Date REVEAL”
Of Guns and Pens
I can imagine this post to be a bit rambly, as I try to make sense of all that happened last weekend. Already from my previous post, there was a small mentioning of what would eventually become one of the worst weekends ever. I don’t expect to find any resolution of any sort, let alone a silver lining. I just want to explain and analyze from there.
Last weekend was one that I was originally looking forward to, and for two reasons: 1. The red egg and ginger party for my dad’s friend’s new grandson was held (and for those who don’t know what a red egg and ginger party is, you can read about it here) and 2. I got to participate in an event for Barnes & Noble for my very first time. Continue reading “Of Guns and Pens”
From Moments to Memories: Recommended Reading
It’s been a crummy week for the world. While no mass shootings or terrorist attacks have happened at all this week, it’s hard to ignore the scarily common occurrence of seasoned entertainers passing away from cancer (some of whom having kept a tight lip about). With the sudden loss of so many people this week- for me, in particular, Alan Rickman on Thursday- I’m finding it difficult this week to summon the proper energy to write on the topic that was originally scheduled for today.
