Two Worlds, One Family: 20 Years of “Tarzan”

Every now and then, I expand my dialogue about storytelling by going beyond the boundaries of books and out into the mediums of TV and film. I do so by doing these analysis pieces once a while about a TV show or film that has reached a significant time in its history (i.e. series premiere, series finale, film release, anniversary of a release, etc.). Previously, I wrote at length about the Disney Channel series, “So Weird.” Today, similar to “So Weird,” I look to another Disney property that has also reached its 20th anniversary this year; the one that ended the Disney Renaissance with a bang. Today, I’m talking about Disney’s “Tarzan.”

From Within the Mind: Influences

In honor of the three months since An Absolute Mind came out, this month, I shall be doing a weekly series of behind-the-scenes glimpses at the process and the decisions made with the creation of the novel. As I Await Dawn…

An Absolute Mind is ready for its release into the world. It’s just all in the matters of waiting out the remaining weeks until November 15th. Meanwhile, in the midst of already sending out advanced copies to certain individuals, I’ve been stressing out of my mind in recent time, wanting more than anything for people to actually read this book and respond positively to it. It’s gotten to the point now where the stress is affecting my sleep, as I’ve had many restless nights this past week.

Despite the stress and last-minute preparations, I find myself having the inkling to read from two very particular sources; one of the books I’m currently borrowing from a library, the other being recently released and awaiting for me to lay down some money for a copy to buy.
